MSP ADVISORY SERVICES TEAM HELPS MINNEAPOLIS CHURCH LEASE SCHOOL BUILDING

KIPP Minnesota signed a five-year lease with the Church of St. Anne – St. Joseph Hien for the former private school building at 2620 Russell Avenue North in Minneapolis, Minnesota. KIPP will take occupancy this July ahead of the 2019-2020 school year.

Jeremy Striffler of the MSP Advisory Services Team represented the Parish in the transaction.

KIPP’s mission is to establish and operate high performing public schools in the Twin Cities that confront educational inequity by delivering academic excellence and cultivating leadership skills to ensure all students succeed in college and life. The new campus is part of KIPP’s strategic plan to grow to four schools – two primary schools and two middle schools – serving over 1,000 students in grades K-8 by 2024.

New Buddhist Temple in St. Louis Park

The MSP Advisory Services Team represented Wat Thai of Minnesota, the first of three Thai Buddhist sects in and around the metro area, in the purchase of the former Lutheran Church of the Reformation in St. Louis Park, MN. Wat Thai converted the old church into a temple and much of the renovation work was completed by the monks between their morning and evening chanting.

Minneapolis Area Synod of the ELCA Sells Property

The MSP Advisory Services Team represented the Minneapolis Area Synod of the ELCA in the sale of a 3.85 acre property that included a 11,7000 SF church building located at 2544 Highway 100 South in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, for $1,500,000. The Buyer was the Thai Buddhist Center of Minnesota.

The Minneapolis Area Synod of the ELCA synod includes 147 congregations and two Synodically Authorized Worshiping Communities located in and around the City of Lakes — from urban neighborhoods to first-tier suburbs and outlying communities beyond Hennepin County to the south, west, and north. The synod supports their member churches and their rostered and lay leadership.

 

Hamline Church Leases Space to Midwest Child Development

Represented the Landlord, Hamline Church United Methodist, in the leasing of 4,300 square feet of education space at 1514 Englewood Ave, St. Paul, MN 55104. Hamline Church is a vibrant engaged community of faith located in the Hamline-Midway neighborhood of Saint Paul. Midwest Child Development LLC was the Tenant.

Midwest Child Development offers a quality education program and full-day child care. The program is designed to meet the needs of our families by providing a safe, nurturing, educational environment for children ages six weeks to five years old. They will open July 2016.

Church of the Blessed Sacrament Sells Campus

The MSP Advisory Services Team represented Church of the Blessed Sacrament in the sale of the Blessed Sacrament Campus located at 1801 East Lacrosse Avenue, St. Paul. The campus includes a 34,991 square foot school building, a 13,920 square foot church and a 6,105 square foot house that all sit on 3.67 acres of land.  ACC Building Corporation, a Minnesota non-profit, was the Buyer.

ACC Building Corporation purchased the campus on behalf of Academia Caesar Chavez, a Minnesota public charter school founded in 2001. The school is dedicated to providing a quality dual-language education that prepares critically thinking, socially competent, values driven, and culturally aware bilingual and bi-literate learners by advocating Latino cultural values in an environment of family and community.

MSP Advisory Services Team Represented Urban Academy in St. Paul Lease

Represented the tenant, Urban Academy, and the owner, St. Gregory School (owned by Lumen Christi Catholic Community), in the lease of 24,600 square feet at 1668 Montreal Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota. Urban Academy is a kindergarten-sixth grade charter school.

Church of St. Pascal Baylon Sells Property

Represented the Church of St. Pascal Baylon in the sale of 58,000 square feet at 951 Fifth Street East, St. Paul, Minnesota. The buyer, Darul-Uloom Islamic Center, has opened a community center in the former Catholic parish.

Church of St. Columba Leases 20,000 SF in St. Paul

Represented the Church of St. Columba of St. Paul in the lease of 20,000 square feet at 1330 Blair Avenue North, St. Paul, Minnesota. Sejong Academy, the tenant, opened the nation’s first full Korean immersion charter school in the fall of 2014.

MN Conference Association of Seventh-Day Adventists Renews Lease

Represented the Minnesota Conference Association of Seventh-Day Adventists in the lease renewal of 40,000 square feet at 3500 Williston Road, Minnetonka, Minnesota. Nasha Shkola, a charter school celebrating Russian culture and language, was the tenant.

Represented the Church of Saint Casimir in the lease renewal of 36,000 square feet at 930 Geranium Avenue East, St. Paul, Minnesota. Life Prep, a pre-kindergarten through eighth grade charter school, was the tenant.
